This Privacy Policy explains how BreakMingle handles information when you create an account and use the service.

1. Information you provide
We process account information such as your email address and authentication records; profile information such as display name, profession, biography, pronouns, interests, preferences, and profile photo; content and communications such as messages, invitations, circle posts, reports, and block choices; and settings such as break preferences and notification choices.
2. Location information
Location access is optional and requested only while you use the app. When enabled, approximate or precise device location may be sent securely to the backend to calculate nearby results. Exact coordinates are not displayed to other members. Your city or location label is shown only according to your privacy setting. You may disable location permission or discoverability at any time.
3. How information is used
Information is used to create and secure accounts, provide profiles and discovery, deliver communications, operate break features, prevent fraud and abuse, investigate reports, enforce safety rules, provide support, maintain the service, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Service providers and disclosure
BreakMingle uses Supabase for authentication, database, file storage, and server functions. Cloudflare RealtimeKit processes audio, video, connection metadata, and participant identifiers to deliver calls and live rooms. Firebase Cloud Messaging and the applicable platform notification service process device tokens and notification contents for enabled push alerts. Map tiles are fetched from CARTO and may reveal your IP address and the requested map area to that provider. Device geocoding may use platform services. Profile photos are served using public URLs; anyone who obtains a photo URL may be able to view it, even if profile discovery is disabled. Do not upload sensitive photos. Live calls are not represented as end-to-end encrypted. Other participants may independently capture what you share; we cannot prevent that. Information may be disclosed to service providers only as needed to operate the app; when required by law or valid legal process; to protect users, rights, and safety; or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. BreakMingle does not sell personal information and does not use third-party advertising trackers in this version.
5. Storage and security
Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Access is limited through authentication, database row-level security, storage policies, and server-side authorization. No system can guarantee absolute security, so use a strong unique password and protect your device.
6. Retention
Account information and user content are retained while your account is active and as reasonably needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, enforce agreements, or meet legal obligations. Deleted data may remain in service-provider backups until those backups expire under the configured retention schedule. Contact support for the applicable retention period. Limited safety or legal records may be retained when legally required or reasonably necessary to prevent repeated abuse.
7. Your choices and rights
You may edit profile information, control discoverability and location visibility, block or report members, request available account data, and permanently delete your account in Account Settings. Depending on where you live, you may also have legal rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain a copy of personal information.
8. Account deletion
In the app, open Settings, then Account Settings, then Delete account. Confirmed deletion removes the authentication account, profile, stored avatar, messages, break history, preferences, and associated app data unless limited retention is legally required. You can also request deletion without reinstalling the app at https://breakmingle-policies.kzk227qf2h.chatgpt.site/delete-account.html. Contact lakenormanwebsolutions@gmail.com if you cannot sign in. We verify account ownership before acting on an email request.
9. Adults only
BreakMingle is intended only for people age 18 or older. We do not knowingly permit accounts for children. Suspected underage accounts may be removed.
10. Changes
Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, when appropriate, by providing notice in the app or requiring renewed acceptance.
